Outreach by Stakeholder Forum

Outreach, known as ‘The Voice of the NGO Community,’ was a multi-stakeholder newsletter published daily at key intergovernmental sustainable development meetings and conferences. Produced by Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future from 1996 until 2011, its primary goal was to facilitate the communication and dissemination of news, expertise, and opinions between various stakeholders to ensure that they are equipped with thorough, extensive, and updated knowledge and understanding during negotiations.

As such, Outreach has been issued and distributed from the very corridors and meeting rooms of major events on environmental governance and sustainable development and is often officially recognized by the hosting institution.

In its many years of publication, Outreach continually played a pivotal role in conveying information, allowing space for key thinkers and experts to unpack issues of relevance to earth system governance processes, and channeling the opinions of stakeholders.  With over 300 multi-media publications, spanning print, online magazines, podcasts, videos, and newsletters, Outreach was, at the time, the longest continually produced stakeholder magazine in the sustainable development arena.

The Outreach Archive, now being updated, will soon be fully populated for research and historical context.
