Practice - renewables 2004 - Survey - Future Activities

Future Activities (49 respondents)

Our respondents were asked to nominate the factors that determine their planning and focus for future activities. Of the set of five responses (discounting ‘Other, please specify’) UN targets e.g. MDG goals (9) was by some way the least popular, roughly a third of the most popular response, Political support and commitment (26), and less than a half of the fourth most popular response – Partnership (22). The factors of Cost effective renewable energy solutions (25) and Effective policy mechanisms were held in much the same regard as Political support and commitment.

We then proceeded to ask what indicators our participants would use to measure their success in achieving objectives and delivering projects. The most popular of the set of four indicators was Increased levels of public awareness (31), while Numbers of people using renewable energy (26) and Increased proportion of Renewable Energy in national energy mix (25) were ranked of similar importance. Increased income and turnover (21) was the least nominated of the four.
