Lesha Witmer

Lesha has an educational background in the areas of Dutch and International Law and Personnel, Financial and Strategic HR and General Management. She is the director of “WIMA” interim management, has extensive managerial experience and broad international NGO experience. Her expertise lies in the areas of capacity building, empowerment and participation strategies in water and sanitation. Her honorary functions include: Chair of the Committee on Sustainable Development of the Netherlands Council of Women, Chair of Women for Water of Business and Professional Women International, President of BPW The Netherlands and President of the VAM (women and labour market) foundation. Lesha was the Women’s Representative in the Dutch Government Delegation to the 12th Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD). Since then, she takes active part in the CSD meetings. Lesha has been one of the co-founders of the Women for Water Partnership and presently holds the position of Treasurer within the Steering Committee of the Partnership.
