• Issue Based briefing papers supported by regional and stakeholder desegregated toolkits.
• National Assessment Templates to support stakeholder participation in reviewing and monitoring implementation.
• Governance Research on Intergovernmental sustainable development institutional frameworks.
• Publications on key sustainable development processes and issues, including stakeholder views and perspectives.

Examples of previous activities:

• Governance: Produced 7 papers, from The Future of the CSD to The Inter-linkages of International Environmental Agencies;
• Background Briefings: Background-briefing documents on all the major issues addressed by the Summit;
• National Templates: Assessment Templates on Agenda 21 Chapters, helping groups to produce their National Reports;
• Lobbying: Produced lobbying documents throughout the Summit process. These included a compilation of stakeholder views, an editing the PrepCom 3 text into a Programme of Action and a draft of political Declaration;
• Responsible Tourism Conference: Held a Conference on Responsible Tourism in Destinations. Over 300 people attended, resulting in the Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism. Next Conference in Majorca in 2004;
• Regional Government Network: Launched a new Network of Regional Government. 22 Regional Governments joined and produced The Gauteng Declaration on Regional Government and Sustainable Development.
